Electrical Transmission and

Power Distribution Matting Solutions

Midwest Access Solutions understands the complicated and difficult requirement the electrical transmission power providers and contractors face that install and maintain our nation’s power grid. We use only Sterling Lumber manufactured Crane and Access Mats because they are strong, cost effective and safe.

Access matting minimizes damage to the environment. After the mats are extracted, the area recovers fairly quickly with minor restoration. The Power Transmission and Distribution industry must have rapid access over environmentally-sensitive or rough terrain for line upgrades, repairing storm damage to power grids and for routine maintenance.

Matting is a low-cost alternative to expensive gravel roads because the mats can support the large equipment used during maintenance, removal and installation of electrical transmission lines. Large level work areas (generally 100' by 100'), called Crane Pads, are easily installed to stabilize equipment such as drill rigs and cranes.
